Chainlink brings tokenized asset pricing to weekends
Chainlink adds weekend pricing for tokenized assets, giving Aave’s Horizon platform a way to value collateral while traditional markets are closed.

Chainlink launched a service for pricing tokenized assets through weekends and holidays, and Aave plans to use it to value collateral on its Horizon lending platform when traditional markets are closed. The service, called Chainlink 24/7, is now live, according to Chainlink’s announcement.
How will Chainlink price assets outside market hours?
Chainlink 24/7 combines prices from regular and extended trading sessions with quotes from multiple perpetual futures venues when traditional markets are shut, Chainlink says. Perpetual futures are contracts that track an asset’s price. The off-hours reference reflects trading in those contracts, not a live quote from the closed stock or commodity market.
Chainlink says it filters stale quotes and limits the influence of prices that are far from the others. It stitches the session prices and off-hours quotes into one continuous price series for each supported asset. The company says the service covers stocks, commodities and other traditional assets, though it did not list the assets available at launch in its announcement.
What does Aave plan to use the feeds for?
Aave is adopting Chainlink 24/7 Data Feeds to price tokenized assets used as collateral on Horizon, its institutional lending platform, starting with high-volume U.S. equities. The feeds publish prices directly on blockchains, according to Chainlink. Aave’s Horizon platform lets qualified investors borrow against tokenized assets, CoinDesk reported.
Why does weekend pricing matter for lending?
Blockchain markets can run around the clock, while the traditional assets they track trade on set schedules. Chainlink says applications have had to pause markets, keep using the last available price or build their own systems during closures. For lending, a fresh reference price can help a protocol value collateral when the underlying market is shut. Chainlink says its feeds are designed to support risk management and liquidations; the announcement does not give details on Horizon’s rollout timing or specific risk settings.
